Or you may have narcolepsy or chronic insomnia, both disorders that can greatly impact your everyday life.
Helping you rest easy.
Millions of people suffer from sleep disorders, many needlessly. At the Oaklawn Hospital Sleep Center, we offer a special testing program to assess and treat sleep disorders. This program is offered in a setting separate from the hospital in a quiet, private and comfortable environment. The center offers both daytime and nighttime sleep testing depending on your needs. Here our experienced professionals will spend time with you to discuss sleep habits, lifestyle and health history to get at the root of the problem.
We take a closer look.
Our friendly staff go to great lengths to make you feel at ease. Often you will spend the night. During the course of your sleep study, we will monitor brain waves, blood oxygen levels, heart rhythms, breathing, eye movements and muscle activities.
Most sleep disorders can be effectively treated once they have been accurately diagnosed. Depending on the severity of your sleep disorder, treatment may include Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), weight loss, medication, surgery or dental appliances.
You're probably covered.
Unlike most sleep centers, Oaklawn has been accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Most health insurance plans provide coverage for all or part of sleep testing and treatment that we provide. Check with your insurance carrier.
Oaklawn's Sleep Center offers free screenings every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon and Thursdays from 4-7 p.m. No appointment is required for the half-hour screenings that will include pulse oxygen and blood pressure checks, (CPAP)machine assistance and facility tours. Screenings will be performed by experienced sleep specialists.
We're always here for you.
