Oaklawn is the first hospital in Michigan to offer the Definium 8000 direct-capture radiographic technology that provides faster x-ray exams, quicker results and superior images.
“This technology is the best available,” said Oaklawn Cronin Imaging Center Medical Director Neel Banerji, M.D. “The image quality and depth is remarkable. It also makes exams about three times faster than the previous film process.”
Radiographic images can be digitally transmitted to the patient’s physician or the Emergency Department within minutes of the test being performed. Previously, film x-rays were developed and physically transported to the doctor or ED.
Oaklawn offers sophisticated 4D ultrasound technology that enhances diagnostic capabilities and can give parents a glimpse of their baby’s physical features.
The Phillips iU22 technology features superior imaging technology that allows patients to view the fetus and internal organs clearly and almost as if they were being held in the hands. When possible, Oaklawn provides 3D photos for parents to take home.
The ultrasound system also makes exams faster with better clarity, accuracy and precision, said Oaklawn Cronin Imaging Center Director Rick Johnson, R.T.(R).
Experience You Can Trust
All radiology technologists have passed a national registry exam pertaining to the areas in which they work. Your images will be read by a radiologist (an M.D.) and a report will be provided to your physician. Oaklawn's nuclear medicine, CT, MRI and mammography services are accredited by the American College of Radiology.
