POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner training program. Current licensure as a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan. NCCPA/AANP Certified and BLS/ACLS required. Minimum of two (2) years of PA/NP experience preferred. Must be self-confident, possess strong interpersonal skills, problem solving and prioritization skills. Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) preferred. Ability to process information in a confidential manner and communicate clearly and effectively with patients, doctors and staff: Ability to maintain patient confidentiality, ability to work independently and function as an integral team member with other healthcare professionals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a physician. Compiles patient medical data including health histories and the results of physical examinations. Appropriately records findings in the patient medical record. May administer or order diagnostic tests and may assist in interpreting test results. May perform therapeutic procedures for which the provider has privileges. Maintains patient charts, enters diagnosis and billing codes, logs data into patient information systems, and updates file systems for tests and treatments performed. Provides patient education and instruction and answers questions and explains procedures.
