Julie Pieske, RT(R), has been awarded Oaklawn Hospital’s highest honor as the 2011 recipient of the Employee of the Year Award. In making the presentation hospital President and CEO Rob Covert said, “The award is presented to one whose courtesy, kindness, cheerfulness, enthusiasm, work ethic, professionalism, and outstanding performance sets them apart. In becoming the 34th person to receive this award, Julie joins a distinguished list of Oaklawn employees who are admired, respected, and loved by their peers.”
Pieske, a Radiologic Technologist, first joined Oaklawn’s “pool staff” as a radiology tech in 2004. Within four months she achieved full-time status and is currently studying to be Oaklawn’s first certified Vascular Intervention Tech. Here are some comments by staff members who nominated Julie for this award.
- “Julie is kind, caring, and compassionate. She always has a smile on her face and a ‘glass full’ attitude.”
- “Her work ethic is impeccable and her skills in performing her duties are outstanding.”
- “Her people skills are remarkable. The way she reaches out to patients and co-workers in need is an example for all of us to follow.”
As recipient of this award, Pieske received flowers, a cash bonus, an engraved clock, and her name will be added to the Employee of the Year plaque that hangs in the hospital front lobby. Julie and her husband Donald are the proud parents of six children (Lisa, Kristy, Alex, Brooke, Alisha, and Austin) and are blessed with four grandchildren.
