[Marshall, MI] After 19-1/2 years of dedicated service to Oaklawn Hospital, Barbara Cliffe-Miller, Program Director of Rehabilitation Services, said farewell to her Oaklawn family and patients last Friday at a going away open house. Barbara will be taking a similar position at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge, Georgia where her husband Eric (Miller) has recently become the city’s Director of Public Safety.
Cliffe-Miller began work at Oaklawn as a part-time physical therapist in June of 1992, and was named Director of Oaklawn Sports Rehabilitation Center at 15 Mile Road in Marshall, just three months later. She grew what was then a two-person single-site outpatient department into a highly respected physical rehabilitation service with a staff of 29 and additional locations in Albion and Olivet. A long-time resident of Albion, Barbara was recognized for her dedication and service to the community in 2010 when she was named Albion’s Business Person of the Year.
At the farewell open house Oaklawn President & CEO Rob Covert said of Cliffe-Miller, “Your love of our patients and your unbridled optimism, energy, and enthusiasm have made you beloved, not only by the Oaklawn family, but by our patients as well. We salute you and wish you the best in serving the very fortunate people of Bainbridge, Georgia.”
Mitch Zigler, Director of Oaklawn’s Albion Physical Rehabilitation, is succeeding Cliffe-Miller in the Program Director role.
