Oaklawn Hospital is pleased to welcome Richard Goodstein, D.O. to their active medical staff. Dr. Goodstein will be joining Dr. Alcides Gil-Acosta in the Oaklawn Pulmonology practice, located in Suite 3A of the Wright Medical Building, the latter part of August.
Originally from Philadelphia, Dr. Goodstein earned a Bachelors degree and attended graduate school in Immunology/Microbiology at the University of Texas, before obtaining his medical degree from University of Health Sciences in Kansas City. He then spent four years at Flint Osteopathic Hospital and completed a residency in Internal Medicine.
Following four years of active duty in the Medical Corp at Loring Air Force Base in Maine, Goodstein returned to Flint Osteopathic Hospital and did a Fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases.
Board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pulmonology, Dr. Goodstein worked 16 years in Grand Rapids at West Michigan Pulmonary Consultants and Grand Valley Medical Specialists. During this period he also served as Medical Director of MetroHealth's Sleep Disorder Lab.
Dr. Goodstein and his wife Hannah, a Master Gardener and President of the Parent's Board of Xavier University, moved to Marshall in July. They have three grown children, all of which have graduated or are presently enrolled at Xavier University in Cincinnati.
